BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Flu season is approaching, and experts say getting a flu shot is the best defense against the sickness.
The shots are primarily available at the doctor’s office, local health departments or a pharmacy.
Low-cost flu shot clinics will also likely be popping up soon.
Almost 500 people showed up for a flu shot clinic at Wallace State Community College on Monday.
Immunizations are especially recommended for children between the age of six months and two years old, adults 65 years old and older, pregnant women, health care workers and people who are morbidly obese.
