2 arrested in Montevallo shooting

MONTEVALLO, Ala. (WIAT) – Police in Montevallo have arrested and charged two in connection with a Monday shooting at the Falcon Manor Apartments.

Terry Christopher Searcy, 18, and Kevin Valladares Gutierrez, 18, were charged with one count of first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

They are being held in the Shelby County Jail on $90,000 bond.

Witnesses say the shooting stemmed from an argument between Searcy and Gutierrez and the resident of the apartment.

One female victim was shot one time and was transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries.

“Our prayers go out to the victim and her family and we hope she fully recovers from her injuries,” Chief of Police Jeremy Littleton said on Wednesday. “I want to thank the community and surrounding agencies for their help and commend our police department personnel for a job well done to help bring closure to this case.”
