Warming stations opening across the area

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — As winter weather approaches, many warming stations are opening across the state. Boutwell Auditorium will open again Monday night at 6 p.m. and will remain open until 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

It will open again on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Salvation Army on Noble Street in Anniston will open as a warming station at 8 a.m. Tuesday and will be available during the day through Thursday. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, the Salvation Army’s shelter will be open 24 hours a day for those in need of a place to stay.

Greenbrier Baptist Church in Anniston will provide a warming station Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. until Thursday at 8 a.m.

The Elliott Community Center in Gadsden will be open as a warming center from 8 a.m. Tuesday until noon on Thursday.
