Hearing set next month for last summer’s UPS plane crash

UPS Plane Crash

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) - The National Transportation Safety Board is also trying to find out why a UPS cargo jet crashed in Birmingham last summer. They’ve scheduled a hearing next month in Washington. The jet crashed just outside of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport last August. Both pilots on board died.

The purpose of NTSB’s hearing is to review landing procedures, training, and proficiency. It will also examine human factors: including decision making, communication between pilots, fatigue and fitness for duty. Investigators didn’t find any problems with the jet.
