BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — During the next few days, many school systems will review their actions to see what they can do better next time.
And some families will be doing the same thing.
The McKinley family spent most of last Tuesday and Wednesday separated.
Some of the family was stranded at a homeschool co-op. Some were stranded at a friend’s house and no one was at home.
With a week to reflect on what happened, they say some things may stay the same, but others are likely to change given similar circumstances.
“I probably would have gone ahead and sent my girls, because they’re close. As far as getting him out to where we had to drive, I would have probably stayed home that day,” said Dinah McKinley.
The Hoover School System says they are currently reviewing policies and will have a full report sometime in the near future.
