Missing Shelby Co. teens found safe

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the two boys have been located safe.

ORIGINAL: Law enforcement officials in Shelby County are asking for the public’s help finding two missing 14-year-old boys.

Dalton Stern and Jacob Sweeney were last seen Monday afternoon. Stern was last seen around 4:45 p.m. in the Meadowbrook Road area.

Sweeney was last seen around 3:00 p.m. in the Brookhighland Parkway area.

Both Stern and Sweeney are believed to be runaways.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says Stern was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black hooded shirt. He has blond hair and blue eyes, stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds.

Sweeney was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans.  He has brown hair and brown eyes and stands 5 feet 10 inches tall. Sweeney weighs 160 pounds.

The boys are believed to be together.
