JASPER, Ala. (WIAT) — Most roads were clear in Jasper on Thursday thanks to crews who spent countless hours treating them.
Although bridges and overpasses like the one on 9th Avenue in Jasper were a concern overnight, traffic was moving smoothly and roadways were clear.
Relieved drivers were able to safely maneuver to work on Thursday despite snow and overnight icing on the roads.
The street department spent the night spreading sand, but Mother Nature helped with a sunny day and warmer temperatures melting away the snow.
City and county crews were out double checking secondary roads throughout the day just in case they needed more sanding.
