NORTHPORT, Ala. (WIAT) – Some people are calling Connor Renfroe a hero, but says he was just looking out for his dad. Back in January, Robert ‘Bo’ Renfroe, was home with Connor when he had a medical emergency. Connor says his dad fell and began shaking.
Instead of panicking, Connor calmed himself down and ran to a neighbor’s home for help. The neighbor returned to the Denfroe home and helped Connor call 911. Firefighters say Connor’s quick thinking and action may have helped save his father’s life.
For that reason, Northport Fire Rescue is giving Connor the department’s first Fire Chief’s Commendation Award. Chief Bart Marshall says Connor responded exactly how he wishes everyone, not just children, should respond in an emergency.
