Baby Café open in Birmingham to encourage breastfeeding

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Breastfeeding moms in the area have a new ally called the Baby Café.

It’s designed to promote and encourage breastfeeding. The café at Princeton Baptist Medical Center features specially trained staff to assist moms.

Mothers can take time to peruse new DVDs and read books and brochures.

Appointments are not needed to stop by, and siblings are welcome.

There are more than four Baby Cafés around the nation.

The Birmingham café opens every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, which is located at 1101 Martin Luther King  Jr. Dr. SW, in West End.
