HELENA, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: A leak found on a stopped train in Helena is found to be not dangerous, according to the Helena Fire Department.

A HazMat team checked each car of the train, which stopped near the Pink and Blue Daycare. They found the source of the leak coming from a tanker carrying turpentine sulfate, which Helena Fire Capt. Chad Agee says is not dangerous.

Neighbors originally made the call after smelling what they thought to be sulfur Tuesday night.

Crews from Helena Fire, Helena Police, Pelham, Alabaster, Hoover, and Shelby Co. EMA and Sheriff’s Office all responded to the call.
