Three pharmacies burglarized in Walker County in past week

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Three Walker County pharmacies were burglarized in the span of a week.

Investigators don’t yet know whether the three Walker County crimes are related.

But they want the public to know, these criminals are on the loose.

A busted glass door was just some of the damage pharmacist Ginger Abbott and her coworkers dealt with after the latest break-in.

Security video shows a white car pull up to the store. Then, two burglars use a rock to break into David’s Discount Pharmacy in Sumiton.

They were in and out in three minutes, taking oxycodone, hydrocodone and morphine with them. It happened Sunday morning.

Last Thursday, someone broke into Son’s Pharmacy in Parrish.

The next day, police say two men used a sledgehammer to break into Strickland Drugs in Carbon Hill. Police say a lot of blood was left behind with all of the broken glass.

Oxy and Claritin D were among the narcotics taken in Carbon Hill.

Police say all of those drugs can easily be sold on the street for a lot of money.

Sadly, the burglars leave fear and damage behind.

In the Carbon Hill and Parrish burglaries the suspects drove similar cars.

Both were two tone, possibly maroon, Mercury Villager or Nissan Quest vans.

If you know anything that could help catch the suspects, call Carbon Hill or Parrish police immediately.
