Trussville residents vote to raise property tax

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — Trussville residents will be paying a little more in property tax soon.

Residents voted Tuesday in favor of a 7 mil tax that will go towards paying for two new schools.

A total of 2,812 residents voted in favor of the tax, and 1,935 voted against it.

The property tax means a person who owns a $100,000 home will now have to pay $70 more per year.
