HELENA, Ala. (WIAT) — After the recent winter storms, the City of Helena is considering offering an emergency text alert service to immediately get important information out to people who live in Helena.
Mayor Mark Hall told us communication was the biggest problem they had during the January 28th snow storm. They now believe they need to find another way to get information out, faster.
They are working with a local company, Community Response Systems, to develop the alert system. They plan to present a plan to city council soon.
The mayor also wants community feedback. You can go to the City of Helena Facebook page to comment. Click Here.
