Fire breaks out at vacant house in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — A fire that broke out at a vacant house on 18th Street in Tuscaloosa Wednesday afternoon is under investigation, according to fire officials on the scene.

The fire was fully involved when the Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service responded, according to Gene Holcombe.

When crews made it to the scene they were told there were possibly children inside the house, which has been vacant for eight months.

No kids were found on the scene.

The fire is considered suspicious at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
