OXFORD, Miss. (AP) – Jarvis Summers scored 20 points and sparked a decisive first-half surge Wednesday night to lift Mississippi to a 79-67 win over Alabama.
Ole Miss (17-11, 8-7) snapped a four-game losing streak by racing to a 26-13 lead, after which Alabama could get no closer than six points. The Rebels led 43-28 at halftime.
The win kept Ole Miss in a tie for fourth place in the Southeastern Conference.
Martavious Newby had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Marshall Henderson and Aaron Jones added 13 points and 12 points, respectively. Henderson set an SEC record at 61 consecutive games with a 3-point shot, breaking the mark on his first attempt from the field.
Shannon Hale led Alabama (11-17, 5-10) with 27 points and nine rebounds as the Crimson Tide fell to 0-13 on the road. Trevor Releford scored 16 points, 14 in the second half, and Levi Randolph added 13.
