Pelham looking for control of schools by July 1st

PELHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — July 1st is the day the new Pelham School Board wants to have control of its schools.

“All of this is somewhat fluid at this point. Because things change daily. But what people need to know is that there is a plan in place. There is a process that’s ongoing technology is up and running.” –Rick Rhoades, Pelham School Board President

Rhoades says negotiations with the Shelby County School System are going well for the turnover of the schools in Pelham. Unless something changes, he says meeting the July deadline will not be a problem.
