TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Just because you aren’t hearing as much about the flu lately doesn’t mean flu season is over.
But the number of cases and complaints has tapered off. Last week doctors at DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa saw 83 patients with flu-like symptoms. It was the first time since fall that no one actually had the flu.Positive flu cases peaked during the last three weeks of December.
“however, it does not mean that it is gone completely, and we have had flu seasons where there’s been another spike closer to the spring. In fact, that happened last year.” – Brad Fisher, DCH
Doctors say it’s still worth your while to get a flu shot. And remember, always wash your hands.
