Head Lice cases increasing because of “selfies”?

Head Lice

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — We have a health alert before you snap that next “selfie”. According to an expert who treats lice, it could be spreading head lice among teenagers.

Lice treatment experts say they’ve seen a 35% to 40% uptick in lice cases. They say lice can spread when teens take group selfies. When they touch their heads together the lice can jump from one person to the next. The expert also suggests checking your child for lice weekly.
