TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Two teenagers accused of throwing a brick off an interstate overpass and injuring a driver have pleaded guilty. When the incident happened in 2012, the two were 16-years-old and they were charged as adults with 1st degree assault.
As part of Thursday’s plea agreement, they’ve been granted youthful offender status and any punishment will remain confidential. West Alabama mother, Melissa Jones was driving with her three children in the car when the brick crashed through her windshield. She suffered several broken bones and a collapsed lung and had to go through multiple surgeries.
