BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – UPDATE (x2): The name of pedestrian struck by a trolley on Tuesday afternoon has been released. She was 25-years-old Pouneh Bahri of Centerville, Virginia. Students of the Horizons School have placed flowers and art out in honor of their classmate who was killed in the trolley accident.
UPDATE: The Birmingham Police Department confirms the victim has died. Mayor Bell and Police Chief Roper are on the scene. The accident victim was a female student at Horizons School for adults with disabilities. According to Dr. Jade Carter, the Executive Director of the Horizons School, the victim was a female second-year student. She was set to graduate in May and was walking back to her apartment with other students when she was struck.
