Tax holiday proposed for guns and ammunition

guns and ammo tax-free holiday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — There could be another tax-free holiday weekend in Alabama’s future, but you won’t save money on school items or weather radios. Instead, it would be for guns, ammunition and supplies. State Representative Becky Nordgren introduced a bill that would set up a tax free weekend before the July 4th holiday.

The Gadsden republican says it’s the perfect way to celebrate the rights and independence of Americans. If passed, state sales tax would be dropped from gun sales and supplies the weekend before July 4th.
