ALDOT’s I-20/59 bridge replacement hearing set for Tuesday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Some clarification about a public hearing involving planned bridge replacement on I20/59 through the heart of Birmingham.

The Alabama Department of Transportation listed the meeting as taking place Thursday, it will instead be held on Tuesday evening, March 11th. ALDOT will present its plan to the public to replace the elevated roadway between 31st Street North and I-65. The work will include the complete removal of sections of the highway. Traffic will be redirected along 11th Avenue North behind the BJCC.

ALDOT public hearingThe public is invited to give feedback on the project. The public hearing is set for Tuesday at St. James Missionary Baptist Church on 24th Street North from 4-7 pm.
