BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (W(AT) — The Birmingham Zoo hopes to attract some new faces with a free event Wednesday night.
The event is called Plight of the Painted Dogs.
The event supports the zoo’s conservation efforts and allows the public to learn more about the unique dogs.
It’s a free event and will be held at the Birmingham Zoo. It begins at 6:30 p.m.
Also, the Birmingham Zoo is now the home of two black bear cubs. The bears made the trip from Montana to Alabama and now call the zoo home.
Both cubs are currently being checked out by zoo veterinarians.
It’s unclear at this time when they will make their first appearance, but it should come soon after their physicals are complete.
Zoo officials say a new home is also being developed for the cubs.
