Bond denied for mother accused of killing her 4-year-old


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Bond has been denied for a 22-year-old mother charged with capital murder of 4-year-old son.

Lakita Shameka Swinnie was given additional charges after her arrest for aggravated child abuse.

The new charges from the grand jury include capital murder, murder and manslaughter.

The pretrial hearing is continued until March 25.

Robert Lewis Martin, 25, is also facing charges in the case.

Police say he’s Swinnie’s boyfriend. He’s charged with capital murder of her son, Jamarion Swinnie on Dec. 16.
