Man convicted of attempted murder of Pelham Police Officer

PELHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Todd Sterling Miller will learn his fate next month. A jury convicted Miller of the attempted murder of a Pelham Police Officer. The case stems from a March 2012 incident. Jurors believe Miller tried to run over Lt. David Rushton, when Rushton tried to stop Miller’s vehicle with a spike strip. No one was hurt in the incident.

Miller also faces more attempted murder charges. He’s accused of hitting three U.S. Marshal’s vehicles. His sentencing is set for April 16th.
