“Fast for Families” looks to bring attention to immigration struggles

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Around 1,100 families are reportedly torn apart by US immigration policies every day. An event called the “Fast for Families” caravan is trying to bring attention to the struggle.

The protestors started fasting Sunday at noon and broke that fast Monday afternoon. In all, the caravan will travel to 75 congressional districts to push for immigration reform.
