Good Friends restaurant’s business license revoked

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The doors are closing at a Birmingham restaurant that came under fire after the owner’s arrest on charges he fired a gun at an unhappy customer.

The Birmingham City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to revoke the business license for Good Friends Chinese and Seafood Restaurant in West Wend.

Community leaders and those who live nearby fought to shut down the restaurant, because they say it’s a threat to the neighborhood.

The owner of the restaurant is charged with attempted murder.

Police say Chun Hin Ching shot at a customer when she complained about finding a roach in her food in February.
