MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — States are turning up the heat on smoking, urging major pharmacy chains to stop selling tobacco products. More than half of the Attorney Generals in the US are pushing major retailers like Walgreen’s, Rite-Aid, and Wal-Mart to drop tobacco products from their shelves.
The AG’s believe it’s the right thing to do to help customers achieve better health. CVS announced they would stop selling tobacco products in February. Alabama Attorney General, Luther Strange, is not part of the push.
