Police arrest man for impersonating officer in Vestavia Hills

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WIAT) — Police in Vestavia arrested a man who they say was impersonating a police officer.

David Keith Griffin was arrested after he tried to serve a warrant to an employee at a business on Montgomery Highway.

Vestavia police went to the business to check into reports of a suspicious person. Someone called police saying a man was trying to serve a warrant to an employee at a store in the area.

Police picked up Griffin and learned he has an outstanding warrant for a similar situation in Michigan.

He’s charged with impersonating a police officer and is being held on $15,000 bond.
