MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions is getting into the discussion over the Ukrainian crisis. In Montgomery Wednesday, he gave his input on how the Obama administration is handling the issues between Russia and Ukraine.
“We’ve got to find some things that are painful for Russia and impose those because if you just say ‘well, we didn’t do anything this time, but we’re really going to be tough on you next time,’ I don’t think that’s the kind of thing that would create concern in Russia. In fact, they would read it again as weakness, not strength.” – Jeff Sessions, Alabama Senator
Crimea voted to leave Ukraine and join Russia. The United States and Europe refuse to recognize the move.
