Birmingham, Ala. (WIAT)-It came down to the final rotation of the evening session. Alabama needed a near perfect performance on bars to edge top-ranked Florida.
The Crimson Tide trailed by .125 and posted six 9.9 or better scores in a row to total a 49.650, setting a new school record on the uneven bars.
Alabama finished with a 197.875 while No. 1 Florida scored a 197.700.
No. 2 ranked LSU was third with a 197.325 and No. 6 Georgia took fourth with a 197.150.
Auburn dominated the afternoon session scoring a 195.55.
Both Alabama and Auburn will compete in the NCAA Regionals on April 5.
The NCAA Gymnastics Selection Show is March 24 at 3 p.m.
