Plane may have encountered snow and rain in Colorado

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Weather was not an issue early on as the plane left northeast Alabama from Gadsden Saturday morning. Skies were fair and winds were light. Upon arriving in Oklahoma, little had changed. The flight path skirted just north of some light rain south of Tulsa.

Takeoff conditions there had fair skies, but brisk northeast winds.

Upon departing Oklahoma, heading toward Colorado, the weather deteriorated considerably.

A combination of rain and snow developed in western Colorado and the plane likely encountered this upon the approach.

Its intended destination was the Montrose Airport south of Grand Junction, Colorado.
