BIRMINGHAM Ala. (WIAT) — A woman charged in the death of a 17-year-old twins from Wylam has been granted her request of a bond reduction.
Crystal Nelson is charged with two counts of felony murder.
She’s one of four people who were arrested in the shooting deeaths of Jonathan and Jeremi Berry in 2013.
The twins were shot and killed during a break-in at their Wylam home, and their mother was left paralyzed.
Last week, District Attorney Brandon Falls asked that her bond be reduced because she was receiving death threats in jail.
Her bond is now set at $60,000.
If Nelson posts bond, she will be placed in a safe house for protection.
On Saturday, charges against Dayjuan Tuggle and Quentin Nixon were dropped after Falls filed a motion to end the prosecution against them.
Stanley Chatman remains in jail without bond and faces two counts of capital murder.
