Safe Haven Law in Alabama

Safe Haven Law

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – With Tuesday marking the nine-year-anniversary of workers discovering the body of Angel Grace, it’s important to know there is a law in place that allows placement of infants in proper care, so what happened to baby Angel doesn’t happen again.

The Alabama Safe Haven Law allows unharmed infants, up to three days old, to be placed at certain locations without fear of prosecution. This includes a licensed hospital with an emergency room, or with a hospital employee.
