Microsoft offering financial support to help users switch from XP

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — How would you like to get paid to buy a new computer? Microsoft says if you’re still using Windows XP, it will give you $100 towards a new computer. Microsoft will stop supporting the 13-year-old operating system in April.

At least 10% of government computers still run on the old system. In addition, many bank ATM’s do as well. That could pose a challenge when Microsoft stops providing tech support for XP.
