BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — After nine years Hasbro is adding thousands of new words to the players’ dictionary of the Scrabble board game and they want your input.
The company has set up a Facebook page where players can submit one word.
Suggestions are pouring in, but there are some rules. No abbreviations or apostrophes, no proper nouns, and the word must have between 2 and 8 letters.
The entries will then be whittled down to sixteen words and Scrabble enthusiasts will be able to vote for their favorite. The new words will be announced on April 10th.
