BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham’s beer scene is booming, and it’s only getting bigger.
A brand new brewery is ready for business. Trim Tab Brewing in downtown Birmingham is the latest microbrewery to open in the Magic City.
Owners say the opening is a dream three years in the making.
Free the Hops spearheaded the effort to pass the gourmet beer law in 2009.
Since then, Alabama has added dozens of small beer businesses across the state.
“We believe in our product,” Trim Tab sales manager Ben Zonnevylle said. “We believe in our culture and our brand. You’ll hear us say this a lot: we look at ourselves more as a lifestyle than we do a brewery. We’re gonna impact as many facets of the community as we can.”
