City council discusses food truck ordinance Tuesday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham City Council is monitoring a topic involving food truck operators who are feeding the homeless.

CBS42 recently found out that police have been putting a stop to the charity service, because the city’s food truck ordinance doesn’t allow food truck operators to give food to the hungry.

That part of the ordinance has a lot of people upset.

The Birmingham City Council discussed the issue Tuesday but did not come to any resolution.
