BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Students at Samford University are going to get down for a great cause Thursday night. The third annual “Dance for Downs” is this evening at the Pete Hanna Center.
The dance is a chance for students and members of the community to interact with individuals with special needs in a fun environment. The idea behind Dance for Downs started as a fundraiser, but has evolved into much more after its first year.
The dance runs from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Pete Hanna Center on Samford University’s campus.
The event is $5 at the door, with all proceeds from the dance benefiting “Down Syndrome Alabama”.
