TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa police say the person responsible for a New Year’s Day homicide has been indicted in the death of the unborn child killed.
Tuscaloosa County Homicide Unit spokesperson Sgt. Dale Phillips says the Tuscaloosa County Grand Jury indicted KiAnthony Davis, 22, in the death of Shakevia Washington’s unborn child.
Davis was driving a vehicle around 3:30 a.m. New Year’s Day, ran a red light at the intersection of McFarland Boulevard and 15th Street and hit another car. Police say Davis was driving recklessly with excessive speed.
Washington and Evelyn Page, 45, were killed in the crash. Washington was pregnant with a child, who was also killed.
Davis is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
