Auburn shooting trial delayed until June

Auburn shooting trial

AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) — The trial for a man accused of fatally shooting three people at a pool party in Auburn in 2012 has been delayed from next week until June.

Desmonte Leonard is charged with capital murder, attempted murder, and assault in the killing of two former Auburn football players and one other person.

The delay means the second anniversary of the shooting will fall during the trial. Prosecutors say the trial could take two to three weeks and involve 100 witnesses.
