BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Spiders are forcing Mazda to recall 42,000 vehicles. The automaker says spiders can build webs in a vent hose and cause the fuel tank to crack. That can lead to an increased risk of a fire.
The recall affects 2010 to 2012 Mazda-6 vehicles equipped with 2 1/2 liter engines.
Mazda says it will notify owners, and dealers will fix the problem at no charge. This is the second time, in three years, Mazda has issued a recall because of spiders.
