HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — They may not be as precious and cuddly as a puppy, or kitten, but owls deserve just as much attention. And one little guy is getting more attention than he ever expected.
An adolescent great horned owl fell out of a tree in Huntsville during Sunday night’s storms. The homeowner saw that the bird couldn’t make it back up tree, so she took him to the North Alabama Wildlife Rehabilitators.
The bird is still not old enough to fly and still needs his parents. After workers checked him out and saw he was okay they put him back in the tree, and his parents took him back in.
