Number of stay-at-home moms on the rise

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The number of mother’s staying at home with their kids is on the rise. But the change has more to do with money than a cultural shift. That’s according to a new report by the Pew Research Center.

The study found that 29% of American mothers are at home. The report found that many moms would like to work but can’t find jobs. And even if they do find a job the pay doesn’t cover the cost of childcare.
