SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Sunday is release day for popular youth evangelist Matt Pitt. He’s been locked up at the Shelby County Jail for almost eight months.
In October, a judge sentenced him to 10 months for violating his probation on charges of impersonating a police officer in 2012.
The incident stemmed from a disagreement over a BB gun found in wooded area of Jefferson County.
Pitt maintains his innocence in both incidents. His attorney says Pitt is looking forward to telling his story in court.
