Pell City man drowns in Logan Martin Lake Saturday

PELL CITY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Pell City man drowned Saturday afternoon while working around his dock on Logan Martin Lake.

St. Clair County coroner Dennis Russell tells CBS42 News that 87-year-old Charlie Hester was using a pole to push debris from around his dock when he fell into the lake.

He was reported missing around 1:30pm.

Rescue units searched the lake for several hours before Hester’s body was found around 7:00 p.m.
