Birmingham man pleads guilty to manslaughter charges

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Just days before his trial was supposed to begin, Brandon Levoy Davis pleaded guilty to two manslaughter charges Monday morning.

Now Davis will spend seven years in prison.

Davis was driving his truck too fast when it crashed at the intersection of 24th Street Southwest and Jefferson Avenue.

It ended up hanging off an overpass.

His wife and 3-year-old son were killed.

His trial would have started this week.
