Etowah County woman arrested for chemical endangerment of a child


ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — An Etowah County woman was arrested for chemical endangerment of a child, according to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

Twenty-seven-year-old Amanda Leigh Johnson was arrested after failing a drug test while three and a half months pregnant.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson says Johnson tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

She’s charged with one count of chemical endangerment of a child.

Johnson is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bond.
