2 children rescued from trailer with active meth lab

Meth arrest

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Jefferson County deputies who were acting on a tip made a shocking discovery. Two small children were rescued from a home where an active meth lab was found on the property.

Jeremiah Small, 20, was arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled substance.

Deputies say he was operating the meth lab in a trailer on the property where the children lived.

The children, ages 5 and 8, have been placed in the care of relatives.

The sheriff’s office is pursuing chemical endangerment charges against their mother.
