ABC agents seize 200 gallons of moonshine

LOWNDES COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – On April 17, 2014 Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Agents raided a home off of County road 7 in the Minter Community and seized nearly 200 gallons of moonshine.

Two men, Andrew Peak and Ronald Hardy have been charged with possession of moonshine and possession of an illegal still.

Agents with the Moonshine Task Force say the bust is one of the Task Force’s largest seizures of illegal spirits ever in Lowndes County.

The investigation took several weeks. Agents received a top about a still in the woods and set up surveillance. Agents saw two men carrying plastic jugs to a shed near the home. 10 gallons of moonshine was found inside the still.

183.5 gallons of moonshine was found inside the home. The estimated street value of the moonshine is about $5,800.
